Miscarriage; Reasons And Prevention

 

Pregnancy is heavenly feelings for a woman. Every woman wants to taste the feelings of being a mother. Sometimes the dream of being mother happens to miscarriage.  Pregnancy can be a thrilling time for women, but with the great number of recognized miscarriages that can occur, it is beneficial to be informed about miscarriage. Because in the unfortunate event that you find yourself or someone you know faced with one. Miscarriage is the most common type of pregnancy loss that occurs when a pregnancy is lost shortly after implantation, resulting in bleeding that occurs around the time of expected period.

In medical science, Miscarriage is a term used for a pregnancy that ends on its own, within the first 20 weeks of gestation. Most of the time, there’s not a lot you can do to prevent miscarriage but you can’t prevent it happens.

  • Bleeding which progresses from light to heavy

Reasons behind Miscarriage:

There are many reasons of miscarriage, although the cause isn’t usually identified. The majority think that reason of miscarriage that the mother has done something wrong. It’s thought miscarriages are caused by abnormal chromosomes in the baby. They are genetic it can happen with anybody. There are some medical causes,

  • Hormonal problems, infections or maternal health problems
  • Maternal age
  • Maternal trauma

  • Implantation of the egg into the uterine lining does not occur properly.

  • Calcium deficiency
  • Sexual intercourse

If a miscarriage happens during the second trimester (between weeks 14 and 26) of pregnancy, it’s sometimes the result of an underlying health condition of the mother.

Prevention:

 

Since there is no fixed cause of miscarriage there is not much that can be done to prevent them. When you recognize that you are pregnant, the goal is to be as healthy as possible, to provide a healthy environment for your baby to grow in. To prevent miscarriage there are some steps are,

 

  • Avoid alcohols and drugs
  • Get your blood sugar under control
  • Avoid smoking
  • Eat healthy
  • Limit caffeine
  • Avoid diet
  • Exercise in moderation
  • Manage stress
  • Avoid sex in the first trimester

 

 

Treatment of Miscarriage:

The treatment during a miscarriage or after a miscarriage is to prevent hemorrhaging or infection. The earlier you are known about your miscarriage you should go to your doctor as soon as possible. Bleeding doesn’t mean that all the tissues are gone. It may cause other problem or infection so to stop it you need to go through medical treatment.

In the majority of cases, it is seen that the pregnancy tissue will pass out naturally in a week or two. Sometimes medication to assist the passage of the tissue may be recommended, or you can choose to have minor surgery to remove it if you don’t want to wait. Your doctor might recommend Dilation and curettage (D&C) if:

  • You have abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Clear out tissues that remain in the uterus after a miscarriage or abortion to prevent infection or heavy bleeding
